Castelveder- third generation winemakers from Franciacorta, Italy.
Casteleveder- in the likeness of heritage and tradition
Castelveder is one of the first family estates of Franciacorta. The name means ‘old castle’ in Latin. Between the winery and its vineyards, one is still able to spot the ruins of a tower belonging to the Brusati noble family during the 13th Century. Renato and Elena Alberti first planted vines in 1975 — 20 years before the region became a DOCG – with a dream to produce fine sparkling wine. However, that dream was threatened when the winery’s succession skipped a generation. Hope was restored when their granddaughter, Camilla, decided to continue her grandparent’s legacy in 2004 and the torch was passed to her. Her team consists of a group of young, dedicated friends and family members. The estate produces only around 80 000 bottles per year and its wines were selected as the winery to represent the Franciacorta region at the 2015 Milan World Expo.
