Founded in 1895, Cantine Francesco Montagna is one of Oltrepò Pavese most historical winery.
In 1974, the Bertè Cordini family bought over the winery but decided to keep the original name as a tribute to the founder. Today, second-generation family members Matteo Bertè and cousins Marzia & Luca Cordini represents a new generation of young people who are bringing new life and fresh knowledge to wines of their region. The winery produces some
of the most impressive and underrated Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes in Oltrepò Pavese, grown over marl and loam soil with a high percentage of limestone. The cool climate along with the soil contributes to the fragrance and good natural acidity in their grapes.
